.... and now BEAGLES to worry about!
Info on the most recent worm attacking PCs this week was sent to those of us who use Tellurian/garden net as our ISP. It includes a link to a very useful and reliable site:
"There is currently a virus/hoax circulating via email. The email contains an attachment and appears to be from Tellurian Networks. The email will state that either the mail server is going to be unavailable for several
days, or that your PC contains a virus and needs to be cleaned. Both messages will tell you to open the attachment to solve the problem.
Tellurian Networks will never send an attachment of any kind to our customers unless you speak with a member of our staff and specifically request we do so. We urge you to delete this hoax email immediately and not open or run the attached file. If you have already opened the file,
please update your anti-virus software and run a full scan of your computer. Since some anti-virus companies do not yet have protection against this virus available, you should update and scan again tomorrow.

SCCC also sends along the following helpful tip:
"Another thing to keep in mind is to keep you home DAT virus definition files up to date. McAfee has released three updated DAT files in as many days due to the numerous outbreaks of viruses. Another DAT may come out later tonight or tomorrow. When you start your home computer it's always a good idea to start the virus scanner and click on "Update" to make sure your DAT's are current.
While the IT Team does not support home computer, we provide this information to you to help you clean & protect your home computers.
