It's Here!!!
For those of you blessed with extremely long-term memory, you will remember the SC OEL Collaborative voted to finish off the remaining dollars in the state contract by purchasing:
~ a scanner to add to the Cool Stuff Lending Library to be available, on loan, to any member agency of the SC OEL Collaborative;
~ additional Website training w/ Cit-e.net;
~ and addtional year of ETTC consortium membership to continue developing your technical skills;
~ and, 13 sets of the software that came with the PCs that the 41 member agencies received in December 2001. Members who had sophisticated enough hardware at that time did not get PCs and, unfortunately, missed the MS Office Professional, Norton Anti-virus and Adobe Acrobat Reader -and have since been having difficulty opening some documents and getting full benefit from the ETTC training since they are utilizing different software. This software will make them fully compatible with the other members of the collaborative. Janis and Catherine cheer!
The Executive Committee will now meet to plan a full User's Group Meeting; we'll distribute the software then. We'll be in touch with you soon. However, if you are one of the thirteen agencies running without virus protection and/or Word2000, please contact Alana Steib /SC Help Line, current Chair of the SC OEL Executive Committee, and arrange to sign-out and pick-up your software immediately. Believe me, we'll all feel a whole lot better when you're running Norton! Shades of Klez and Blaster.....
