Jamie Bernard of DASI Receives SC CSA Distinguished Service Award
Jamie Bernard, Executive Director of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Asault Intervention Services (DASI), received the SC Council of Service Agencies Distinguished Service Award at a ceremony and luncheon on December 10, 2008.

The award recognizes outstanding performance in the field of human services in the individual's own agency, and in service to the broader county, state or national human service organizations.Jamie's twenty-five year career in domestic violence prevention began in 1984 as a hotline volunteer with DASI. It has grown to a leadership position in which she has grown the agency to a $1.1 million budget with a staff of thirty in three locations in the county. She is a NJ Certified Social Worker; a certified Domestice Violence Specialist; and a Disaster Response Crisis Coordinator. She taught a three credit course, "Interventions in Domestic Violence,"as an adjunct faculty member at SCCC. Jamie served as Chair of SC Human Services Advisory Council, the Human Services 250th Anniversary Conference, the NJ Coalition for Battered Women; and founder and Chair of the SC Elder Abuse Task Force. She presently serves as Co-Chair of the NJ Advisory Council on Domestic Violence.
